Building a High-Stakes, Revenue-Generating Certification Program

The Challenge: The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba (LGCA) needed to create a mandatory public certification program for all individuals working in liquor service and retail across the province. The training had to be accessible, fully bilingual, and flawlessly reliable for a large-scale public audience.

Our Solution: We partnered with the LGCA to build their “SmartChoices” certification programs from the ground up. This included complete instructional design, bilingual development (in both English and French), and a high-stakes final exam. The program was designed to provide a professional and user-friendly experience that could be deployed to tens of thousands of users. In addition to the module series, we also played a role in bringing the courses to market with an eCommerce storefront to sell their certification training.
